Barack & Michelle Obama Bought Our Dream Waterfront Home in Martha’s Vineyard (For Only $11.75 Million)

Real estate envy is a real and serious condition, and we’re suffering from it hard. Barack and Michelle Obama have reportedly bought an $11.75 million Martha’s Vineyard home, and while of course we’re happy for them and wish them only the best and all that, we are also gasping at these photos of their new estate.

The Obamas have been vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard for years, so it’s no surprise they chose this location to invest in some property. According to the Vineyard Gazette and TMZ, the house has seven bedrooms, 8.5 baths, a Chef’s kitchen, stone fireplaces, two guest wings, a private sundeck, and waterfront views. It’s big enough that you could invite multiple houseguests — and never see them if you don’t want to.

Barack and Michelle first rented the 29.3-acre property this summer, before purchasing the property from Wycliffe and Corinne Basler Grousbeck (Wycliffe owns the Boston Celtics). There are two waterfront views available from the property: one of the ocean, and one of Edgartown Great Pond (oh, and three if you count the massive pool).
