Shieldmaidens of MetalAngela Gossow is recognised as one of the early pioneers of female-fronted death metal bands. Her harsh vocal style and death growls contributed immensely to the catapulting popularity of Arch Enemy. In 2014, she stepped down as the vocalist, passing the torch to Alissa White-Gluz, but she continues to act as a business manager for the band.
