Swiss sculptor and painter Alberto Giacometti (1901, Switzerland - 1966, Chur) had a unique vision of the world. He mastered a style to portray the air of loneliness and despair after the war. As a result, he created elongated figures that were a reflection of the traumatic aftermath of World War II, the weightless and scarred bodies of the survivors he witnessed in postwar Paris.
