The aesthetic design of the Spartan is based on 60’s race cars with a modern retro look and styling that is raw and minimalistic - spartan.

The Spartan is powered by a Honda 2.4 litre engine and offers spectacular braking and cornering levels you would normally only experience in formula vehicles. Thanks to its light weight and power, the performance of the Spartan outshines that of super-sport cars with many times the power, cost and maintenance.

The Spartan will deliver a pure driving experience – an unfiltered adventure aided by no roof or doors and only a bike-inspired windscreen leaving you completely immersed with your surroundings. The Spartan experience is as close to driving a formula car as you will ever get.

The ambition is for the Spartan to be affordable, lightweight, easily maintainable, and perform to the highest standards by using the best quality components in combination with clever and innovative engineering. The Spartan is built to a standard and not a price, period.

The aesthetic design of the Spartan is based on 60’s race cars with a modern retro look and styling that is raw and minimalistic - spartan. The supercharged Honda 2.4 litre engine is at the heart and soul of this very special car.

The suspension is designed, engineered and tested to allow for a ride that is supple, predictable and confidence inspiring right up to the limit and deliver great feedback to the driver, a testament to development driver Barton Mawer and Andre Nader from DNA Autosport.

The damper kit is a Tractive Suspension ACE Kit. This kit is a stand-alone damper kit that wires into the supplied TracTive Control Unit (TCU) mounted in the centre of the car. The TCU is a G-Force sensor that is constantly sending the dampers information about the attitude of the car. They can completely soften the ride over ripple strips yet stiffen up in an instant as the car builds G-Force. Think of them as a 4-way shock that can be programmed to react to your driving style through a touch screen with 5 memory settings. Using these memory settings, the driver is effectively dictating the stiffness range that the dampers are permitted to work in. As the car enters a corner and builds G-force the dampers will stiffen. If for some reason the G-signature of the car drops, ie. there is slip, the dampers will soften to assist in re-establishing grip. TracTive’s patented valve can move from full hard to full soft in 6-10 milliseconds.

The Spartan can be raised from race height (80mm) to road height (105mm) using 4 preload adjusters located on each damper. These are similar to what are used on the rear of motorcycles. They are manual units and can lift or lower the car in less than 5 minutes. It is a more robust, lighter and a simpler system than having a pump and multiple hydraulic lines.

The downforce of the Spartan at 200km/h and 250km/h is 299kg and 467kg respectively thanks to it’s front splitter, rear diffuser and wing. CFD development has been undertaken to maximise the aerodynamic potential of the underbody of the vehicle without compromising the mechanical nature of the vehicle. The aerodynamic balance of the vehicle has been designed to ensure that it compliments the weight distribution of the vehicle and to provide excellent high speed cornering adjustability to accommodate all driver’s preferences. By altering a combination of front ride height, rear wing position (5 setting) and rear wing gurney orientation it is possible to achieve a highly dynamic aero balance of 48% down to a more stable and forgiving value of 32%. This adjustability will also ensure that the vehicle is desirable to drive at high speed circuits independent of the weather or track conditions.

Safety is of paramount importance to Spartan Motor Company – a safety cell incorporated into the design exceeds current CAMS/FIA safety standards. The chassis is not only lightweight but extremely tough with its tubular spaceframe design providing superior stiffness. Complementing the world-class chassis are many CNC machined billet suspension and chassis components. All parts on the Spartan are carefully selected with quality and safety in mind.

The Spartan’s hand-crafted carbon fibre body panels with quick-release fasteners, weighing less than 20kg, is a testament to the degree to which Spartan Motor Company will pursue to decrease the weight to achieve the highest performance attainable.

A unique feature to the Spartan is its ambidextrous driving configuration, the foot pedal unit and steering column are interchangeable from right to left-hand drive.

The combination of quality products, innovative engineering and lightweight materials contribute to the unrivalled chassis balance. Additionally, they result in lower running costs for the short and long term future ownership of the customer.

The Spartan is road legal in the UK – available with light package, handbrake and lift kit.
