Royal Enfield Bullet 350

The Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is where it all started. The Royal Enfield 4-stroke models were what were used in the early days by the Indian Army. Most bikes were imported from London before they started localizing and manufacturing them in Madras.

Royal Enfield Bullet 350

The Royal Enfield Bullet 350 was later replaced with the 500cc model. The increase in power and torque were much appreciated since these bikes were ridden in the harshest conditions one could imagine. They were in service till the 500 models were produced later being replaced by a more modern 350cc engine.

Yamaha RD350

The Yamaha RD350s were legendary motorcycles of their time. While not popular due to their cost, some RD 350s made there way into the Indian Army and were used for quite a few years. It was known for its ballistic power and handling at the time and the 2-stroke nature became iconic in the bike world.

Jawa

While the Indian Army exclusively used Royal Enfields, there were a few old Jawa's which also made their way into the fleet. Jawa regularly organizes various events with the Indian Army to thank them for their service and spread awareness.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 411

The Indian Army recently got hold of a fleet of Himalayan 411s. These bikes are great for the rough and tricky terrain of India specially the mountains. They offer good ground clearance and are quite nimble off-road unlike the Bullet.
