Three students on their way to school were hit by a speeding Audi car near here on Thursday. While on of them was killed, the others sustain serious injuries.
The occupants of Audi, six members of a family on way to Jammu from Delhi, also sustained serious injuries. The car after hitting the students went off the road and fell into a ditch. The injured were taken to Tanda Civil Hospital from where they were referred to Jalandhar.
The accident took place near Tanda at 7 am on Thursday. The driver of the Audi car first hit two students riding a bicycle and then another student, who was riding a scooter.
The deceased has been identified as Manpreet Singh of Rajdhan, while his younger brother Gurkirat who was with him on the bicycle and another student Rupinder Singh of Ghulla were seriously injured.
Car driver Shubham Agarwal, his mother Suman Agarwal, wife Shayni Agarwal, brother Danish, sister Anshu Gupta and niece Avni Gupta were referred to Jalandhar. The police are investigating the case.
