The monument is made up of three-story pillars, with a soldier at the top, with a gold badge in his right hand and a flag in his left. The Soviet war memorial is located in the square on the north side of the Palace of Beautiful View, about 200 meters east of Charlie Church. In addition to the monument, there is a spectacular fountain in the square.
The memorial to the Soviet Martyrs is located on the side of the Black Mountain Square, built in 1949 to commemorate the more than 26,000 soldiers who died in the battle when the Soviet Red Army liberated Austria in 1944. The monument is topped by Red Army soldiers holding flags and shields and surrounded by colonnades. There is a large fountain in front of the monument.
