Flowers

Kaki trees have either male or female flowers. The female flowers are creamy-yellow, solitary with 4 crown-shaped sepals; the male flowers, in three’s, are tinged with pink.

Leaves

Elliptic oval leaf. Oval, undulated, glossy, dark green, 5-15 cm.

Fruits Seeds

Pome: a yellow-orange fleshy fruit with a tough central core containing the seed, 5-8 cm.

Edible

The fruit is slow to ripen, only when the leaves have fallen do they become edible.
