Red Bull is launching a new organic soda line, and the Triangle is one of the first markets to get a taste.

Organics by Red Bull officially launches Monday and will be offered via Amazon.com and exclusively sold in stores in North Carolina – in the Triangle, Winston-Salem and Wilmington markets – and California's San Diego county.

Drinks under the new brand, which is certified organic, are vegan, gluten-free, wheat and dairy free – just like other Red Bull beverages. Unlike the Red Bull Energy Drink line, it is designed to pair well with food.

Company representatives chose North Carolina for the launch because of its bustling food scene and appreciation for craft beverages.

The Organics by Red Bull flavors are:

  • Simply Cola - This not-too-sweet caffeinated soda is derived from multiple plant extracts like kola nut, ginger and cinnamon. The 32 mg of caffeine comes organic coffee beans harvested on plantations across the globe.
  • Bitter Lemon – The tart flavor comes from citrus extracts and organic lemon juice concentrate with an herbal bitterness derived from plant extracts. It is caffeine free.
  • Ginger Ale – Another caffeine-free option with flavors derived from ginger extracts and zesty organic lemon juice concentrate
  • Tonic Water – This caffeine-free beverage is a blend of lemon and lime with little herbal bitterness from plant extracts.

Red Bull will be hosting a launch party featuring legendary pitmaster Sam Jones, bartenders The Cocktail Bandits and local musicians at Whitaker & Atlantic in Raleigh on April 10. Admission is free but guests need to RSVP.
