I was researching South African birds and discovered the awesome-looking Southern Crested Guineafowl (Guttera edouardi). I know that Helmeted and Vulturine are more seen on farms and in aviculture, and Eastern Crested (Guttera pucherani) are rarer but are often seen in AZA facilities, but are the Southern Cresteds available in aviculture as well? Also, are the Guttera guineafowl good for beginners instead of the Numida? I like the hair-like crests of the crested species. Side view of an adult. Source I'm surprised they weren't named the "White-Naped Guineafowl" upon their discovery. Source
