thank you for youe valuable info as i am buy ,now in 2023 a lg30 instead of more common v40 which ha better LCD but i really don't care as i have a Samsung S10 and ampflied with a powerful (which i recommend a lot as it is very powerful ,half size of the btr5 , no BT no controls but raw power and a great app for clock control ,filters ,not eq ,doesn' need it ,just stick on the back of my mobile's cover and connect though a small cable usb c ).
ALL is good ,quality (non MQA but not a problem ) but i want an LG so for 150$ i can get a refurb lg g7 or LG v30 and decided to go for L30 . Iuse good iems ,but i know the quad dac on LG activate over 50 OR 75 ohms (i have UAPP too) so i am buyng a dunu 75ohms adapter to trick the dac as it see an high impendeance headphone and release the quad dac current . Am i correct or am i dreaming?
I would appreciate a lot , CHEERS

Secondly headphone audio is on another level on the phone, courtesy QuadDAC in this phone. It also has this rare capability for native DSD playback, so you can play DSD64, DSD128 files untouched in this phone.

I have a pair of LG V30+ and they are very close to my heart.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2023Will you recommend to buy fearly used one in this 2023?Actually wait I changed my mind, no. Anyone considering this should just get the V35. It's this but with more RAM, an upgraded SoC, and better cameras. The price difference is negligible.

Lately my LG V30 is breezing cold, only getting warm when playing some games. I noticed increase of battery life during the day, and often ended my day with 30% of battery left. Sadly the screen is not very nice as it getting older.

Which custom rom you installed and version?

Just bought one new seal from a Japanese dealer.
                    It's fantastic with custom rom.
Still a very good phone and fantastic music player in 2023.

I will try to keep it as long as possible and maybe bought one LG G8 just in case.

Hanif Fikri, 30 Jan 2023Wow 200$ that's expensive, i bought it for only rm300 ... moreI'm out of touch really with modern phone's these days, since you know, I've had one for 5 years with no real reason until now to upgrade.

$200 is probably a lot, when you can get pretty decent brand new phones around the $250 price range, just that I bought mine for about $800 at the start of 2018. On second thought, I'd probrably not recommend it. Lack of RAM makes daily multitasking slow and old OS isn't safe nor that usable, too many new apps/updates just break.

If you are okay with using custom ROMs, then you can get updates for it. Lineage 20 (Based on Android 13) is available for it now on XDA. Performance in day to day tasks is acceptable. Camera quality is good, but if you're using custom ROMs, be ready to process images by yourself since the available camera apps can't match the processing of the stock app, and for the most part, don't have god features or processing. Display is great, the phone itself is very light, build is great, size is almost perfect but charging, by modern standards, is a bit slow.

A personal huge plus is that it has a headphone jack and a SD card reader, so no compromise in audio quality and storage.

The only major concern would be battery life. These phone were made a while ago, so their batteries have degraded. If you are willing to take that compromise, given a decent price, it might be a good value.
