What is dissappointing about this Phone is content of retail package. You pay 1000 E and there is no protective case for the back nor any headphones included.

Well done Xiaomi for producing another great phone. Personally I think Xiaomi devices (tested Mi Note 10 and Redmi Note 8) are a tad too thick, but that's OK. Specs and performance are great across the board (but cheats in Antutu benchmark unfortunately). The Mi Note 10 I tested already has fast system performance, probably as fast as the Samsung S20.

It does cost a lot in Europe and the US, but if this can cost 30-40% less in Asia (Mi Note 10 in Asia is at least 25% cheaper in Asia), this can sell like hotcakes.

This phone just has much better potential than the Samsung S20 with its weak Exynos chipset and cameras that don't autofocus properly. Also comes with Samsung ads here in SE Asia.

"Shooting in 108MP is possible, a process known as debayering."
When a Quad Bayer sensor is in pixel binning mode, the array isn't a Quad Bayer array anymore, but a Bayer array. So it still needs to demosaic.
In the 108 megapixel mode the pixels are rearranged artificially ("remosaic"), again the result is a Bayer array, which needs to be demosaiced. But because the pixels have been "moved", there are a lot of artifacts and much less detail than with a true Bayer sensor. Fujifilm cameras have a similar issue with their X-trans sensors, which produce ugly artifacts (jpgs as well as raw)

This phone does not deserve 4.4

First I'd like to say I " loved" the wax style of daylight photos. People wrongly thinks that more aperture is always better, this fetish to take photos at dark places. With this 1/1.33" , this phone should never use f1.7, but 2.2 instead. As you increase aperture, less of the frame will be in focus. Pointless to have a 25mm photo that not even 30% is perfectly in focus.
I also knew this 8K was upscale from 4K instead of real 8K. Samsung website says this HMX is capable of 6K30, no mention of 8K.

            1) no sd card for a phone that takes 27MP photos and "8K" videos.
            2) not even IP54
            3) no, your test and graphic shows it is not best sound.
            4) older gorilla 5
            5) no EIS for 4K60
            6) one cam cannot make videos

Is there any device that has scored more than 110 on dxomark that does not have oil painting or wax looking photos?
I do not remember this kind of issues on phones from 2013-16

I'm more confused as to how the V60 with its technically superior 865 gets beaten by a OP7T Pro with an 855+

"Both the S20 Ultra and the Mi 10 Pro use tricks to achieve 5x zoom, while the Huawei P40 Pro has the proper optics and relies purely on hardware instead of smoke and mirrors."
Actually that's not really correct. The P40 Pro has a 14.46mm lens whereas the S20 Ultra has 19.0mm. This means that the Ultra has a higher optical magnification. The magnification of the P40 Pro only "looks" larger because it uses a smaller sensor area.
But the P40 Pro has 10 effective megapixels at 135mm whereas the Ultra only has 7 in Bayer mode, so that's an advantage.

"If you've ever wondered if cropping the center of the main cam's 25MP image to match the coverage of the short tele wouldn't make for an equal or better 2x shot, we tired, and the answer is 'no'."
The reason is that theoretically the main camera needs a resolution of approximately 50 megapixels in order to compete with the 50mm camera. Cropping in 108 megapixel mode isn't a solution either as Quad Bayer sensors capture much less detail than Bayer sensors. By the way, this even nearly proves that a 108 megapixel Quad Bayer sensor with Xiaomi's algorithm is less efficient than a 50 megapixel Bayer sensor, otherwise the 108 megapixel sensor would outperform the 2x camera.

At that price point, you're better off going with P40 Pro, S20+ or even OnePlus 8 Pro. None of them lack essential flagship features like IP68 certification, USB 3.0, etc.

I like this phone, but there's no way this deserves 4.4 stars unless OnePlus 8 Pro 5.0. It costs the same or more, depending on the region, but not only does it not top the OP8 Pro in any category (except audio playback, maybe), it's noticeably inferior in many.

If only this smartphone had a flat screen (and not a hole-punch selfie camera; also, 1440p display would be nice; also, 120 Hz is more proper step-up from 60 Hz), it would be good enough. As it is, it is just garbage that does not deserve the right to be taken seriously or to exist at all.

Yea...no expandable memory with those pictures at higher memory is the same mess that made the Nokia PureView fail. I'm glad the battery life was phenomenal, main camera looks good, and the speakers are fantastic but no 3.5mm jack, IP67+, and expandable memory for $1,000 just ain't doing it for me. The vanilla Mi 10 would seem like a good deal since I don't care about Telephoto but still the lack of 3.5mm jack and expandable memory are turn-offs.

Oh well. Here's hoping the Global version of the Black Shark 3 Pro comes with all minimum US bands (Kimovil may be wrong but I hope they're right...).

Another con ist that it comes only With single Sim in the Global Version. Why Xiaomi? This Makes IT uninteressting for me and a Lot of Others. I need Dual Sim.
