Taxidermy: A Rare Case of Plumed Guineafowl (Guttera plumifera), by Buffon & Willson, 1858-1865, Naturalists, 391 The Strand, London, a pair of full mount adults, one stood upon a moss and fauna covered mound with head turning slightly to the right, the other slightly below, both mounted amidst thick undergrowth with ferns and brush, set against a watercolour painted sky back drop, enclosed within an ebonised period three-glass display case, 86.5cm by 31.5cm by 61.5cm, taxidermist's full oval paper trade label to interior lower left, not much is known about Buffon & Willson, as only listed in trade directories between 1858-1865, this being only a short working period to produce such high quality cases, not many examples have been known to have come onto the open market to this date
