Distribution
South America: found in Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies[1]:
- O. c. canicollis:
- O. c. pantanalensis:
- Western Brazil (south-western Mato Grosso)
An additional subspecies ungeri is generally considered invalid[2].
Habitat
Semi-arid thorn forest.
Behaviour
The diet consists mostly of leaves, flowers, fruit, seeds, and caterpillars.
