Toni Braxton announces retirement from the music industry

The singer has said there will be 'no new projects'

Toni Braxton has said that she will no longer be recording music.

The R’n’B singer said that she won’t be making albums anymore but may tour occasionally. Speaking to thegrio.com she said:

I’m just not going to do any albums anymore; maybe touring occasionally here and there because I love performing, but not as much as I did in the past. But no new projects.

She also told Good Morning America that she doesn’t ‘feel the love’ for music anymore.

“It’ s not affecting me, making me feel that thing I’ve always felt when I perform,” she said. “It’s leaving me. I’m not sure what’s going on in my life. Maybe a female mid-life crisis? My heart isn’t in it anymore. I hate to say that.”

In December of last year Braxton was hospitalised with blood clots. The singer needed urgent treatment following complications brought on by Lupus – a potentially deadly autoimmune disease.

It was the second time in 2012 that Braxton was forced into hospital suffering from her condition. In January she was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles after her immune system began to shut down.

Braxton revealed over two years ago that she has Lupus, the same disease that killed her uncle. The singer also suffers from a narrowing of the blood vessels in her heart.
