Identification & Behavior: ~17 cm (6.6 in). The Cinnamon-rumped  Foliage-gleaner has an olive-brown crown and mantle. The rump and tail are bright cinnamon and contrast with the dusky wings. The underparts are buffy-brown. The throat and face are cinnamon-brown. It has a buff supercilium and eye-ring. It forages in the under and midstory of the forest in Amazonia often in the company of mixed species flocks. It is the only foliage-gleaner with dusky wings and contrasting cinnamon rump and tail, but see Chestnut-winged Foliage-gleaner.

Status: The Cinnamon-rumped Foliage-Gleaner is uncommon and widespread in Amazonia where it is known to range up to 500 m along the foothill of the Andes. It also occurs in Co, Ec, Br, and Bo.

Name in Spanish: Limpia-Follaje de Lomo Canela.

Sub-species: Cinnamon-rumped Foliage-gleaner (Philydor pyrrhodes), (Cabanis), 1849.

Meaning of Name: Philydor: Gr. phileo= to love and hudor, hudatos= water. Philudros= water-loving. pyrrhodes: Gr. pur, puros= fire and oides= resembling. Purrhos= flame-coloured.
