Most of the the flowering crabapples on this site I photographed at the Arie den Boer garden in Des Moines, Iowa. during their peak bloom. Malus ( Crabapple ) expert Arie den Boer, the author of the "Ornamental Crab Trees", collected the arboretum's trees. The garden holds one of the world's largest collection of crab apple trees - approximately 1200 varieties.
